Happy Saturday my friends! I hope you’ve all had a wonderful week and are ready to enjoy some you time this weekend.
Today I wanted to share a few of my favorite places to find the treasures I’m re-styling.
Craigslist: This is a world wide classified site that has everything from diapers to antiques and everything in between! LOVE me some Craigs!
Local Flea Markets and Antique Malls: These are my go to places to find great furniture. Many people don’t have the vision to get past the ugly and see what a piece could become! I know you ladies don’t have that problem so finding a little treasure for your home won’t be so hard.
Yard Sales & Estate Sales: It’s starting to get cold here so yard sale season is almost over. These are always hit and miss for me, as are estate sales. The first 2 estate sales Mom & I went to were fantastic! We only go on the last day, which is 75% off. Last weekend we hit 2 estate sales and did not buy one thing. That’s how it goes for me right now.
I’m getting into a schedule here, shopping 2 days a week (yes that’s work lol), refinishing 3 days a week, stocking on day 6 and resting on day 7. With so many different things I do now it’s helped my body tremendously. I’m not sitting in one place doing the same thing for hours on end! I’ve even met some real live people lol That can’t be all bad ;)
I am enjoying this new gig a lot and learning so much along the way. I can’t imagine where I will be a year from now! I’m pouring my heart and soul into this, as I always do. It seems to me the more of myself I give the more I get back from so many people. Good karma, don’tchaknow!
Here are a few great quotes to inspire you this week!

Happy Monday my friends! Things are clicking right along here in Gypsyland, a little work, a little play and a lot of work that feels like play! Woot woot! and back to the topic at hand :)
I’ve been having the urge to wear more of my jewelry lately and keep getting frustrated that I can’t find what I want. I have several small boxes I keep it in and I can’t ever remember what is where or even what I have! Tell me I’m not the only one with this problem. pleeeease!
I hit pinterest for some ideas on how to better organize it all and let me say WHOA! I found some amazingly creative ideas! Let me show you my favorites. You can see them all on my Jewelry Display board on pinterest! I can’t wait to make a few of these myself :)

It’s finally happened… yes… I admit it freely… I’ve fallen head over heels with a piece of furniture! I was told it would happen, warned is more like it. LOL

Wanna see the before shot of this lovely lady? Don’t say I didn’t warn ya!

There was nothing wrong with her of course, I just wanted to add a WOW factor! I’m quite happy with the way she came out. I gave her 2 light coats of Annie Sloan Chalk paint in Graphite, distressed the edges and added a coat of poly. A little spray paint on the original hardware and BAM! Complete transformation, thankyouverymuch. :)

This baby sold before I even had her in my booth! I was just unloading it and a woman snatched it up! LOVE that!
Do you have a piece of furniture that needs a little pick me up? Don’t be afraid to break out some paint and go for it!

Hi everyone! I’m busy working on some chairs that I’ll be able to show you in a few days but I wanted to show you this fantastic series today. Check out Home Stories A 2 Z, How to Decorate for the DIY’er. She gathered 23 amazing home bloggers to give you their top tips and tricks for the home! I found some great inspiration here and I hope you will too.
Hello my friends! I’ve finally made time to get out my fall goodies and put them to work making my home all snuggly and warm! I’d like to show you a corner of my kitchen that I just finished up yesterday. This first photo shows you what it involves, layer by layer. I started with a large basket that is taller in the back than in the front. Starting at the rear of the basket, I placed a large book, a cutting board, a crackled platter, and a sandwich plate. In the front is a vintage mason jar with a fab zinc top and an ironstone pitcher full of antique silverware.
Every item here I found at a flea market or thrift store for under $3 each! I’m a super thrifty gal when it comes to shopping and I enjoyed using what I already had. The tea towel on front didn’t stay long but I got this one shot before it was banished. A few fall picks and greenery and there you have it!

This last photo is my absolute favorite! I still have a lot of learning about my camera ahead but I’m digging this shot!

Layers of texture are so warm and inviting to me. They draw me in and make me feel cozy! I hope this has inspired some of you to use what you have and make your own little fall corner!

I’m so excited that tomorrow is officially the first day of autumn, yippeeee! This is my favorite time of year and thankfully the temperatures have even dropped so it feels like fall too!
I wanted to share a great link party going on at The Inspired Room, the 2011 Fall Nesting Party. Bloggers from all over link up their projects and decor for us to drool over! I’m going through them myself right now and decided I better share too :)
I’m working on a few furniture pieces that are almost done so there will be photos of those soon and of course, my fall decor! It’s coming out of storage baby, look out!
Let the do it yourself fun begin! When I decided the new direction I wanted to take with my skills, I read many blogs and checked out tons of great products. Today I’d like to share with you a fantastic find that has swept the home decor blog world by storm!
Please give a big welcome to Annie Sloan Chalk Paint. It’s a paint like no other and sticks to pretty much everything! I order mine from Red Hill Gallery & Homewares in Fayetteville. You can find a full list of North American stockists here.
This was my very first piece I painted with Annie’s paint. Imagine a simple maple nightstand with not a bit of character. Now check it out!

The reason I have fallen in love with this paint is because of the texture it allows you to create! Now you KNOW I love some texture right?!?! Let me show you just what I mean!

Can we say YUMMMM?!?! I totally adore the way you can work this paint into so many different looks. The color choices are amazing too!
Now you’ve been cordially introduced to my newest love! I’m head over heels here :) Next up, a few more pieces I’ve painted.
See you then!
