Gray Hope Chest
This hope chest wasn’t ugly or in need of repair. It was just tired and dated. Sometimes you can spruce up a piece of furniture and fall in love with it all over again! I sanded this chest down with a rough grit sandpaper then wiped off the dust with a damp cloth. I gave the chest two coats of gray paint, distressed it just a bit on the front, then stained the top. I waxed this piece for protection instead of using polyacrylic. I chose to use wax because the top of this hope chest was so beautiful and I knew the wax would make that wood just glow! And it did too. I was very happy with how this one came out!
