Green Dry Brushed Chest of Drawers

Paisley Ikat Dining Chair

Although I don’t have a before photo of this chest of drawers, I’m sure you can imagine the dated, orangey brown finish.  I wanted to do something different with this piece so I chose dry brushing.  As usual, I sanded down the entire chest with a rough grit sandpaper and wiped off the dust with a damp cloth.  I gave the chest two coats of navy paint, then sanded with a high grit sandpaper.  Next, I dry brushed the chest with green paint.  I sanded again with the high grit sandpaper, lightly distressed the edges and added two coats of polyacrylic.  I love how this one turned out!

The Ugly Before

Finished Project

I’m in my mid 40’s, mom to one grown daughter, Katelyn, and a grandson, Dawson. He is the light of my life!! I am with the man of my dreams and he spoils me, as well as helping along with the furniture when I need help moving things in and out. My other hobbies include photography, scrap booking, reading and of course, decorating my home! My days find me in the office, painting furniture, decorating my home and when I’m lucky, shopping!
I hope you’ll follow along with me on this journey called home.
