Striped Top Side Table

Striped Top Side Table

I sanded the table down to bare wood on the top and lightly sanded the bottom.  I cleaned the sanding dust off with a slightly moist cloth.  I painted the base of the table in a royal blue paint.  After that was dry, I taped off the stripes on the top.  I stained the stripes on the top of the table and also applied stain over the base of the table.  Once that was dry, I removed the painters tape on the top.  I then lightly distressed the base with a rough grit sandpaper and also sanded the top stripes in the same manner.  I added a coat of polyacrylic to the base and two coats to the top of the table.  There you have it! This table has a new lease on life!

The Ugly Before

Finished Project

I’m in my mid 40’s, mom to one grown daughter, Katelyn, and a grandson, Dawson. He is the light of my life!! I am with the man of my dreams and he spoils me, as well as helping along with the furniture when I need help moving things in and out. My other hobbies include photography, scrap booking, reading and of course, decorating my home! My days find me in the office, painting furniture, decorating my home and when I’m lucky, shopping!
I hope you’ll follow along with me on this journey called home.
